Tshipi is one of the largest open pit manganese mining projects in the Kalahari Manganese Field (KMF) – the biggest manganese bearing geological formation in the world, covering a 400m2 area, located in the Northern Cape of South Africa. It is not only one of the largest single manganese mines and exporters from South Africa, but is also one of the five largest manganese exporters globally.
